KREATIVNI PREBOJ TRBOVELJ

Trbovlje is known as part of the “rdeči revirji”. Here, life was always demanding, which encouraged people to connect with each other and help each other, the so called “kamerašaft”. Networking between people also took place in various societies, intergenerational cooperation and knowledge transfer were established, and cultural activities were lively. In recent years, however, we have noticed that cultural and other societies are dying out and that the space for independent action is shrinking. This aspect is especially emphasized by young people working within the Mladinsko gledališče Svoboda Trbovlje, which is one of the few active associations with a large number of young members. Also in their cultural house, some sections that used to function (especially various choirs) have recently died out. The young people also pointed out the main need is to preserve the building of the “Dom Svoboda” in the ownership and management of the associations that operate in it. We also checked this need when addressing potential partners and they all found that there is no creative space in Trbovlje where we could work and co-create various activities on a daily basis, so we are addressing this topic with the project.

Because we have the opportunity, we want to create a community space for creative creation, where young people, with the help of various mentors, will be able to develop creative breakthrough ideas that will connect different sectors, from which partner organizations also come from. We established cooperation precisely for the reason of supporting young people, mutual cooperation in a common creative space, the intertwining of different sectors and, last but not least, our own development.

We plan to connect this creative space with different types of culture (music, theater, painting, literature, etc.) with entrepreneurship, environmental protection, intergenerational cooperation, sports, new media content, etc. As part of this project, young people will also meet local stakeholders in the field of culture and decision-makers and present their aspects of the city’s creative development.

PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT:

Encourage creative breakthrough of participating sectors and young people in the local environment.

OBJECTIVES:

1. Put the challenges of young people on the agenda in the local environment in the European Year of Youth.
2. Establishing a community space for independent creative rebirth of the local environment.
3. Empower young people for creative breakthrough.

Four partners are participating in the project, next to Aspira, also Kulturno društvo Svoboda Trbovlje, Zavod Peglezen in assosiatopn Trbovlje Novomedijsko mesto. 

The project will last 10 months and is funded by the EU Erasmus + program. Through the project, we will establish a community space with creative breakthrough and integration between different sectors.

The key activities of the project are a study visit to Pina in Koper, a creative meeting with key stakeholders, various workshops for creative breakthroughs, a hecatlon for linking various ideas into a joint production, the final two-day festival at Dom Svobode.

The target group is young people aged 13 to 30 in Trbovlje who want to be creative in various fields.
